A new year... A new beginning

Come January 2009, it will be a very busy month for me settling into new routines with my children, who will both be in different session at school. Not to mention the new timings for their enrichment and activity classes. Then there is Chinese New year toward the end of January so there'll be spring cleaning and preparation that I have to see to.

I guess my clay bead making schedule will have to take a backseat for a while so that I can have a better gauge of time. And when I do, I hope to bring you more beautiful beads! (Of course, I won't dismiss the idea of making some in between some spare time!! Just that I can't make any promises right now.) Do keep an eye on my blog for updates.

I will end this post with a sunset photo which I had taken during my vacation in Jeju, Korea in November. A toast to all for a brand new year and a bright new beginning.

Next Bead Sale

Short Hiatus

Hello everyone,

Hope everything is keeping you well!

the school semester exams are around the corner so I will probably not upload any new beads this month to help prepare for my son's sitting. =) It's his first official exam so you can imagine how jittery I am. LOL! However, customisations are still open if you are keen to order clay beads. I hope to bring you more exciting stuff soon!

Registered mail service is resumed!

From today onwards, I am resuming registered mail/airmail services for all buyers! Currently, all registered mail requests will be made on Thursdays only.

Thank you to my regular buyers (and especially my overseas buyers) for your sweetest patience with me for the past 9 weeks! I am now trying to resume walking though I still can't fully weight bear on my injured foot yet. I am just very happy that I need not rely on my crutches anymore. =D

I had planned to hold this week's bead sale on Wednesday - but I realised that its Childrens' Day and a public holiday. Tomorrow will be tight for me as I have a checkup. So I will hold the bead sale today instead.

Next Bead Sale

I hope everyone's keeping well! =)

I am a little more cheery this week because my cast is taken off, though I still have to rely on a removable cast to promote healing of the fracture. Let's hope I will get to walk properly in a months' time!

My next bead sale is this coming Tuesday morning between 9-10am, SGP time. For this batch, members will get to enjoy a pre-sale in Facebook on Monday afternoon. If you are not a member yet, come and join in the fun!

Next Bead Sale

Hello everyone!

I managed to make some beads last week and am ready for a bead sale tomorrow! =)

As in my previous post, I invited all new and existing genuine buyers to join me in my *Facebook group to enjoy special privileges. Yesterday evening, for the first time, I offered a private bead sale to all the members there prior to my upload in my blog tomorrow. This privilege will be offered only from time to time and not for every bead sale, just to be fair to those who do not want/or like to have a Facebook account. But it's never too late to join us there for future private sales! (BTW, the private sale ends at 6pm SGP time today.)

I will still upload all the beads I've made in my blog but do expect to see several items that are already reserved. I will try to make an upload between 9.30 - 11.00 am.

*The reason for this member group is my answer to having a mailing list and the frequent requests I get for early release of beads by those who could not commit to my regular bead sale day and time. Much thoughts have been put into creating the concept of a privileged group where you can also discuss related subjects with me or other group members. Only group members will be able to see photos and other detailed content.*

News

Hi everyone,

it has been an uneventful weekend for me. I slipped and fell awkwardly on a staircase and fractured my foot!


Now I will have to be in cast for 6 weeks and using the crutches is actually not an easy task at all. More so now that I have to re-adjust my routine and rely on my husband, family and concerned friends for assistance. (Thanks so much you all.... I can't imagine what I'll do without you. *BIG HUGS*) The frustrations are building up on me already but I will do my best to keep myself in shape. (mental wise. =p)

Tomorrow's bead sale will still go on as usual but maybe earlier than stipulated so do check back now and then. However I will need to request that all orders be sent via normal standard mail. I am not able to make my trips to the post office for registered mails. So I hope all the buyers will be understanding toward my predicament and bear with the inconveniences. I also wish that I can get out of this rut soon. =)

This morning has been exceptionally busy with loads of queries on repeating some exclusive sets I've put up for sale today. While I thank all of you for your interest in my beads, I will need to re-emphasise that the exclusive sets will stay exclusive to the successful buyer because of the unique clay color mix that I had made solely for each batch.

That said, I've received several requests to repeat AC448. As a rare exception, I will be able to remake these so if you are keen to purchase, please send me an email by the end of today. Price remains at S$10 for 4 pcs of lentils.

Surprise upload

Hello! I hope this post finds everyone well.

I truly have been busy with customisation of beads.... thank you for all your orders and patience. I have also found a new hobby (hand stitch pouches) which has taken up some of my time as well. But its all in good fun and addictive while you are at it. =)

That said, I am squeezing in time today to make new beads for a surprise upload this Friday afternoon. So be sure to come back and do some clay bead shopping with me. =) Most likely I will load the beads up between 3-4pm. If there are time changes, I will re-announce again.

• A set of beads will contain 4 pcs.
  
• You are able to choose a variety of bead shapes within a set.
  
• Shapes that are available for the making : lentils, hearts, squares, pillows or teardrops.
• There is no limit to choosing & mixing the cane designs for a set of beads however, I will be here to advise if your selections are pretty combinations before I proceed. =)
  
• Most base colors should be available but also subjected to availability.

Bead Sale & announcement.

Hello! I'll be uploading my beads today around 2pm SGP time. Please look out for it.

With bead customisations involving more attention, the next bead upload will fall on 20th May 08. However, if time permits, I may have a surprise upload in between these times so keep a look out too. =)

Selling Canes

I've been toying with the idea of selling canes to others who may wish to have a go at clay beads making for quite sometime. I have had a few enquiries and will like to know if there are more out there who would be keen to try them out - especially if you are curious about the craft and making your own beads for your jewelry line. So do help me out with the poll on the top right.

*For the benefit of newbies who do not know what a cane is, you can refer to my last post where I posted a cherry blossom cane. (it is really not hand painted designs on the end product beads. ^__^) These are required to be sliced thinly and onto your clays in order to make beads to your desired shapes. Thereafter, you will need to bake them so it hardens plus a little sanding and buffing to make it smooth.*

Spring, sprung, sprang.

I made this cherry blossom cane a few days ago... and I can't wait to produce the beads for the next sale. =)

I had quite a number of enquiries for my dove beads yesterday. I apologise that there was not enough for sale. But I will work on some more for the next sale on 25 March. It really made me happy to receive your compliments on them. =)

I also received a few other enquiries about where I got the shape "cutters" for the doves as well as the heart shaped ones. The "cutters" I use are all from my hands! In case you are wondering, I've never used cutters nor bead rollers to achieve any bead shapes. I meticulously shape each bead by hand and making sure that they are consistent in size and shape as much as possible. Thus also the reason why, I don't make more than a dozen for each design. I also try to keep my prices as affordable as possible and also not forgetting the time and effort I put into making them. =)
